at 3.5 ghz your e5300 will only bottleneck that 6870 in quad core games like gta 4.
Try a benchmark with crysis warhead or dirt 3 and you wont see a bottleneck.

I suggest getting a core2quad like Q9550 instead of replacing both cpu and board. Its a lot cheaper for the same performance.

I read somewhere that the AMD bulldozer lineup should be on shelves at the end of the summer. So I think I'll wait to see if it makes the i5-7 prices drop or if the bulldozers are good I might go with that !

Yeah, but you can kiss goodbye to the OCing.

If you look on craigslist in your area you will most likely find a C2Q Q6600, QX9650, Q6700, and so On. Even though people sware by staying away from the Q6600 for FSB Reasons, it's got Either 8/12MB's cache (I can't remember) - But I think the QX9650 has 12MB's Cache, DDR2/DDR3 Support, and a 1333Mhz FSB.

If i had a chance to grab a QX9650, I would gladly get it.
