Processor and Grpahics watercooling

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

A new question from me...

I want to do watercooling of my processor at this moment and in future, to also watercool the GPU.

For now, I have the MCP 355 pump with the EK Top + EK Reservoir 150 and my casing is the Lian Li PC-A70F.

If I want to cool an OCed processor (AMD PII X6 @ 4.4GHz) and an OCed GPU (OCed AMD 6970 or GTX 570), will a 360 radiator do the job?

Or should I create 2 loops with 1 loop for the processor and another for the GPU? I believe that I should be able to mount a 2 X 140 radiator at the front of my casing.

Do bear in mind that I'm living in Singaopre which has tropical weather 24/7/365 -> 30+ degrees temp with 70-80% humidity so the ambient temperature is higher than in the US/Europe

Thanks!

A single 360 radiator should be enough, but if you have room in your case you can always add another radiator down the line.

You'll be fine with one rad. If you add a 2nd gpu you might need a 2nd rad.

Thanks everyone!

I guess the only way to be sure is to put a 360 and then hook up the processor and the GPU.

If the temps are too high then I will introduce a 280 rad.

BTW, if we have 1 GPU block and 1 CPU block in the loop..do we need to add a second pump? I don't want to stress the MCP 355 pump

I'm to agree, the one should get you buy, but look to expand. For now the MPC 355 should be sufficient, however if you get another radiator, I would consider either upgrading or running another MPC 355 in serial

Thanks!

So if we use 2 rads, it would be good to use a 2nd pump.

Must the 2nd pump be the MCP-355 also? Or can we use other pumps like the MCP 655 or EK DCP 4?

One loop should do. I run one rad with my sig. Also if you get a block for the ref 570 it is also compatible with the ref. 580.

If you run 2 in serial it doesn't have to be, but I'm OCD like that xD
