Looking for ssd boot drive, but can't choose

Thread Starter
I've been looking for a 60-64gb SSD boot drive (I'm upgrading to windows 7 professional soon) for the last few days but I can't make up my mind.
I'm on an Asus p5Q motherboard so only SATA II P45/ICH10R

I can get an older Vertex 1 60gb OCZSSD2-1VTX60G for about €81 - There's one left in stock at my usual e-tailer. I know these used to be top notch drives, but how do they stack up to say, the M4?

A newer Vertex 2 60gb OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G at €88 (as I understand the E means it is the 25nm version which sports about 55gb not 60) I am a bit hesitant to get this one, it has gotten quite a lot of one star reviews on newegg due to early failures. Which leads me to believe this drive is not as reliable as I'd like.

A Corsair Nova 2 series 60gb CSSD-V60GB2 - €86
This drive is a complete mystery, it claims to sport read and write speeds of 270 and 240 MBps respectively. There are no substantive reviews on this drive, I have no idea of its random read/write performance or IOPS. I am attracted to this drive because of the price and the advertised read/write speeds but the lack of reviews on the other hand makes me very apprehensive.

A Crucial M4 64 CT064M4SSD2 / OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-60G / Corsair Force F60A CSSD-F60GB2-BRKT-A - All for about €98
These drives are a bit out of my price range, but if the performance is definitely worth it, I'll do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would go for OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-60G twice as fast as any SSD you posted

I would go for the Crucial M4. It has read speeds of 415mb/s and write speeds of 95mb/s. it is compared to the agility 3 at http://www.tythaartist.com/2011/05/s...ops-vs-owc-6g/

No offence mate ... but what you say is kinda "marketing brainwash"

Those numbers are totally meaningless, here`s a nice comparison:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/A..._GB_SSD/4.html

Crucial m4 64GB = 60GB usable space, SF based SSD`s = 55,9GB.

And for boot drive - you don`t "use" write speed that much - m4 will be perfect.

I am definitely heavily leaning towards the M4 64gb right now
Again I have some reliability concerns with the OCZ drives.

Also the Agility 3 advertises 4KB Random Read: 10,000 IOPS (40 MB/s) and 4KB Random Write: 50,000 IOPS (195 MB/s)

The M4 on the other hand: Random 4k Read: 40,000 IOPS Random 4k Write: 20,000 IOPS

EDIT: After some more research I've decided on getting the Crucial M4 64. It should arrive in two days.
