Core i7 950 safe voltages

Hi

I'm planning to overclock my i7 950 to 4.2GHz.
I will get the proper cooling systems as needed.

The question is: What are the voltages to monitor and their safe values?

Any advice is much appreciated

The Vcore pretty much,

You can go up to 1.45 but that's not really recommended, however I think you should be able to hit 4.2Ghz on around 1.33v give or take depending on the chip.

the max i have got with i7 950 is 4600 mhz on air fully stable with 1.5v vcore ....but its too high only do if u r having proper cooling system ...

I find that extremely unlikely. What aircooler were you using? Given the fact that you're in india and we have tech staff over there atm complaining that even with great cooling their stock processors are still in teh high 60's with NH-D14's unless you've frozen your HSF I doubt this is likely

shoot for about 1.3v + or - and then look at the oc threads and looks at the lists spread sheets to see your oc and voltage done

anyone know what the intel white sheets list as the max vid? If I remember correctly it was 1.3xx. Weird how these 45nm chips have a lower max vid then the new 32nm.

I would stay under 1.4 for 24/7 use with any kind of load on it.

I would say 1.4v is max safe with load...
You would monitor the vcore.

that mobo is A 4+1 if i am not mistaken. i would not risk it. even if you succeed, do not leave it running 7/24.
