smartphone frankenstein help, new phone

My aunt had a Samsung Instinct, which she dropped in milk and temporarily killed. however, as far as i know, the phone was fine until my uncle decided to take it apart and let it dry. here is the first problem i experienced, touch screen doesnt work. i opened it up, and immediately i spot the problem, the digitizer is not plugged in... and the story goes on, now i am stuck

the whole phone works (and she has a replacement) except for the bluetooth. the phone turns on under it's own power, and i can navigate to the bluetooth menu, then turn it on and search, yet it doesn't find anything. if i try it on the new phone (same kind) it detects my phone but does not detect the old one.

my money is on the possibility of just having the bluetooth antenna disconnected, and needing it reconnected. all i need the bluetooth for is to transfer contacts from the old one to the new one.

if there is any other way to do this, please let me know thank you

is it for verizon? if so, you could take the phone to the verizon store, or get the verizon backup assistant and use that to transfer the contacts.

it shouldn't all the companies I have ever used, will transfer contacts for free. I would at least call them to find out about it.
