Agreed, filco, xarmor, and das have really good ones, but xarmor is the only backlit of those three. Backlighting is a necessity for me personally, but if it isn't for him, filco or das would be some good ones to look into, even steelseries.

In short is just a better board. (hugely better considering the price/features ratio)

XArmor's backlit mechanicals are getting hard to find these days. Especially the U9BL-S so if you're going to get one better get one soon. centralcomputers.com is one of the few retailers I could find that even has it in stock anymore.

True is price is increased to 200$ now, making it an overpriced board like Filcos.

Just hope that Qpad will give more switch options in the future.

Thread Starter
I am in no rush just saw that was on newegg and seemed pretty cheap. now I know that it is because it uses cheaper switches. I really liked my das and got it for $100 with the student discount. I plan on trying to fix it, just haven't had the time to get some distilled water to try and rinse out the keys. very risky but it is already useless might as well try.

for now I have my $5 logitech board to get me by.

does anyone know how much the shine is supposed to be?

other then the backlight is there any other improvements to the current ocn keyboard?

Cherry G84 keyboards are decent... if you get them cheap. At MSRP, hell no. Discounted like on newegg, still no. $30 for a brand new one is the most I would pay; I got a refurbished one for $15, and gave it away for free a while ago.
