Your opinion is clearly biased. That's okay, you haven't heard anything better. You've even said so yourself. $250 USD is a complete RIP OFF for such speakers. Although if his only options are what that website shows that he linked....then those will be about the only halfway decent option at all.

I'm almost positive that you can find Klipsh ProMedia's or Swan M10's over in the UK. I just wouldn't have the slightest idea on where to shop to get them.
Well have you heard the sp2500's ? If not
Wouldn't that make your claim a bit biased ? You are saying the promedias and apparently A LOT of computer speakers are better than the sp2500's

And i don't go around saying this crap for no reason, go look at any review for them

And who reviews them? Hardware reviewers? The same people who review Logitech speakers? At the end of the day, they're a 2.1 "PC" setup made for "gaming" audio. They don't sound horrible, and they're a little better than the ProMedias, but they're not worth anything close to their retail price. You can do much, much better for your money.

what kind of logic is this. What exactly would you need people to review about the speakers.
What is the difference from people here saying x is better than y.
Should they review it, should we check their credentials.

In all, though. the SP2500s are the best PC-centric speakers we've heard. The asking price may well be a stumbling block for most readers, and many will look toward a budget set of KEF or Mission speakers and amplifier for the same outlay, but after spending hours with a set, there's little doubting that Corsair has hit the right note with its first foray into premium speaker territory. Got a high-end PC build planned? Do yourself a favour and put these on the list.

Exactly, they're about the best "PC speakers" you can get, but not at all worth their asking price compared to a real pair of bookshelf speakers or even passives with a receiver.

as much as i like audioholics, i don't care about reviews that don't have measurements.

people are making it sound like they are so overpriced - $250 is cheap. it is not easy to get quality speakers AND a receiver in that price range unless you go used and find deals.

if I had a firm $250 budget and I wanted 2.1, the only thing i can think of would be a pair of dayton b652s, a cheap amp, and a dayton sub 120. all of that should be ~$250 from parts express. people saying how easy it is to get nice speakers and a receiver and sub for that cheap are misinformed.

Or you could get powered speakers?

You should be getting Swans or Klipsch Promedias.

Logitech Z623's are mediocre sounding, and the BOSE is just crap.

The newest version of the Promedias have a different subwoofer back panel design. There is no on/off switch. The control pod failed on two sets in less than 18 months.

For those that bash the Sp2500 speakers, the sub is better than the Klipsch and they have much better highs as well. I think the Corsair control pod is much more versatile.
The SP2500 costs quite a bit more than the Promedias, but their price drops below $200 on Amazon quite often with and without rebates.
