Good cooler at a reasonable price. Thermalright should be commended.

Like others have said, the 212+ is still the price/performance champ. I swear CM must sell those things at a loss. Saw it for $25-$10mir at Fry's last week.

Wow, that's a great deal considering the HR-02 is not too far behind the NH-D14 and Silver Arrow (both of which cost $69.99 currently).

but with that said, gonna be hard to beat the 212+. $11 final price after CA tax (even at the $25-30 retail/non-sale price it's still good) brand new for the cooling it does is not easy to beat biggrin.gif

God bless the 212+

edit:

that hole in the design is so dumb... poor design imo. also, how is [H] doing a price/performance analysis at the end without even mentioning the 212+, arguably the best bang per buck cooler right now. the analysis chart is lacking to say the least.

it's the only way to offset it enough to be low profile AND not interfere with taller memory.

I actually expected better results. Its not really near the top end air coolers. For its price it fits well I guess, but not anything more.

Wait, what? What does a hole (which I always assumed created extra turbulence in the center, where there would otherwise be little to none, which would decrease contact time with the fins) have to do with the physical dimensions of the cooler itself?

The hole is for you to screw the cooler down to the mobo and backplate, I believe. This is because the cooler itself is off-center so as to accomodate memory with large heatsinks.

Here's a better shot to explain what I'm talking about.
