Getting my 2600k to 5GHz stable - Page 4

Extreme LLC raised the vcore under load from 1.488 to like 1.528. Was hitting 80c fairly quickly and I'm not OK with that personally, though it is another really hot day today - temp monitor next to rad intake is reading 28c

Chewy: how far did you end up going with PLL voltage?

I have to ask again. are these normal temps for watercooling under load. i havnt water cooled these myself but i would expect the temps to be a bit better then this. it almost seems like your gonna need a phase unit for daily 5ghz? by the way i believe 1.528 is right on the edge of what intel considers max save voltage. so if you can get it to stay cooler you might be able to find out if its stable or not.

Not sure bud, I'll have to look in to it as I've only started water cooling very recently.

At stock under P95 I get 52c max, hovering around 48-50. With my ambient at 28c according to my FC5 temp monitor. So a delta of 24c.

Phase lol it all depends on ambient temps and the amount of voltage used. With my 5.1ghz at 1.472v, my ambient temps at around 19/20c, my custom water cooling and externl rad with all 6 fans at 25% speed (completely silent) on push/pull config, my temps at 12hour blend peak at dead on 70c and averages mid 60s, that's with 2 gpu's on my loop. With IBT it's a 10/12c increase, hitting just above 80c. Check the Project - Mod - Review link on my sig for my watercooling build.

EDIT: Mind you I have a 2500k, the HT on the 2600k adds about 10c.

Not A Good Idea, whats your vcore? CPU-Z reading is 1.044v
post #37 of 56
Why push it so much. That extra 200Mhz is killing the environment, Maybe even doubling ur TPU.

I suppose I just have one of those not-so-great chips.

Thanks for your help everyone. I'll stick to 4.8.
