Help buying a new card. - Page 2

The GTS 450 is on new egg for 89 but for 10$ more might as well pay for a GTX 460. Even though it may be about 125$ after taxes and shipping for the GTX 460 you may just want to wait another 2 weeks so you can go that route.

Edit: You may want to check the OCN Selling forums to see if you can find something there. Never know might be able to find someone willing to lower it a bit so you can afford it with shipping

I forgot to look at your location. I have no idea about relative pricing in India. But upgrade wise, it is certainly a waste to go from 9600GT to 9800GT. You'll probably see up to a 5 fps increase in some games.

Check the prices of cards like the 5770, GTX 260, GTX 460, and 6850. These are actually worthwhile upgrades. Maybe look for used products from a reliable seller.

Whats the difference between the GtS 450 and gtX 460?
the difference could be about 30-50% in performance, with the gtx460 being superior...

i think if gtx460 is out of your budget, the 450 is your best bet...

EDIT: here's something that might help you on the performance front, you will have to figure out what's good for you price wise, no idea how things are priced in india

You mean the GTS 450? It will be a big improvement, but the 5770 is better for similar price. Unless you can find a 450 much cheaper than a 5770, go with the 5770.

the 768MB 460 is enough. The 1GB 460's a rip off IMO.

But if given a choice which would you choose?

The GTX450, GTS 450 or the radeon?

There is no GTX 450. You have GTS 450 and GTX 460. I'd choose GTX 460 over the 5770, but the 5770 over the GTS 450.
