450 is great, lovin mine, only runs 50% max on my dual core 2.6ghz, and the GTX 460 has almost twice the stream processors i believe. It's far better than the GTS 450, I was going to buy it, but I was short on money at the time. Don't go ATI at this price range. Nvidia is far better till you get to the medium-high end cards, then its ATI, then back to nvidia for high end. I got my GTS 450 in the winter, and it was quite overpriced, about 130$, but you can find them under 90 easily now. I would go with either MSI or EVGA, they may be a bit pricier, but they are definitely worth it.
-Edit- Forgot to mention, with MSI afterburner, my evga superclocked ed. OCs like a champ. fact. OC of 822MHZ, I could easily push 1GHZ staying under 80C max load on stock cooling. Keep mine at 950, and it only hits in the mid 50s in furmark under max load. OCed you can get about 15% more performance out of it.Edited by lostmage - 7/29/11 at 10:03pm
