I've definitely been looking at the GTX560s. I'm a little wary about doing SLI though, since I don't know very much about it. Will I just be able to plug two video cards into the motherboard and be able to use them? Can I combine a PCI Express 2.0 x4 with a x16? And also the GTX460s are $130 after rebate while this GTX560 is $170 after rebate. What would you recommend?

SATA is backward compatible and will automatically adjust to the proper port speed. You can use SATA I (1.5Gb/s), II (3.0Gb/s), or III (6.0Gb/s) in the same ports.

If you are going to do dual video cards, I would recommend dual 6870s because of your motherboard having an AMD chipset. Also, you're going to need a larger PSU, 700W at least.

Sata 3 is backwards compatible with sata 2 so you won't have any issues there, also going with a sata 3 hdd won't give you much improvement in terms of speed. This is due to the fact that hard drives are not fast enough to even fully take advantage of the higher memory throughput. The samsung spinpoint not only has more storage space but it is a faster drive. Definitely go with it over the WD.

Unless he changes his motherboard to this: LINK
Good board btw, My brothers both use this board

I would get a 555 BE and unlock it. Mine unlocked without a problem and runs great. Plus its alot cheaper...

Modern HDD's aren't capable of fully saturating SATAII, so SATAIII HDD's are a gimick IMO...

If you are looking at the 560, get the 560Ti instead, has extra cuda cores unlocked!

Hmm everyone is telling me to go with the AMD Phenom II 555 instead of the 955. Is it really that easy to unlock the other two cores? Are there any potential complications in doing so or should I go ahead and save myself the $30?

Are the 555 and 955s the same thing, just in the 555 two cores are locked away? After unlocking, will the Wattage of the 555 rise up to the 955? I'm looking at the 555 but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
be careful though with the 555 BE, it doesn't seem to play well the 990X and 990FX Series chipsets...I had to reinstall my 555 BE in my old motherboard just so It would Unlock and stay stable. Because on my 990FX Chipset it would constantly freeze under a windows environment.

The outline of the build looks fine but there are many things I would change.
1: HDD - the Samsung F3 1TB will provide faster performance for a lower price - $55 shipped on Suprbiiz
2: Paying $25 ($20 + $5 shipping) is overpaying for a DVD drive. Scroll down on the above Samsung F3 Superbiiz page I linked and you will find a combo deal with the F3 1TB and DVD drive for $70 + $3 shipping. Much better deal.
3: THIS is a much better GTX 460 for less cost.
4: For the extra few $$$, this is a much more worthwhile RAM choice.
5: As mentioned earlier, the

is a better case for $10 less. Even the for even less is a better choice.
