Need Memory Recommendations

Thread Starter
I am in the middle of buying parts for a new AMD build which is also my first, and I am confused about memory. I have an ASUS Crosshair IV Formula mobo and a AMD 1100T Black processor. What memory would you suggest? I am going to go with 16GB of dual channel memory.

I would like to get either 1866mhz or 2000mhz. I understand that I will have to overclock to get those speeds and I am fine with that.

Thank you so much I really do appreciate the help.

With all 4 DIMMs full. You will be limit your ocing on the cpu with anything than higher 1600. My brother has a 1090T, CH4 and 16gb (4X4gb) of 1866. He is able to run at 3.8ghz and the memory at 1800. I had a 1090T, ASUS M4A89TD PRO and 8gb (4X2gb) of 2000 memory And I was able to run 3.2ghz and the memory at 2000.

So what your saying is, if I am dead set on going with 16GB of memory and filling all four slots that I should get 1333-1600 memory if I want to oc my processor properly? If I did that could I get a lower latency memory?

I was looking at these....

What do you think? Should I go with 1333 or 1600?

Mushkin, G.Skill, and ADATA are great companies. I'm not a big fan of corsair for some reason.

Bus speed hardly means anything for the current available AMD products.

Go with the ones with the lowest factory stable memory latency timing.
