Mech Keyboard Suggestions

Thread Starter
I am looking for a mechanical keyboard for programming, typing essays, and also gaming (in many genres). Coding and typing are my main priorities though.

Budget - $135 but I would like to spend less obviously.

- I want prefer Cherry MX 'blues.
- I want it to be tenkeyless.
- I don't care about having extra USB ports on it, or headphone jacks, or anything like that.
- I don't care about programmable keys and would prefer NOT to have them, though its not too big of a deal.

Thanks guys, I realize there are currently like 10 similar posts, but I already read them all along with the stickies and have yet to make a decision.

FYI, I live near a Fry's Electronics and have Amazon Prime, but I don't mind ordering online from another reputable seller.

A deck mini sounds exactly like what you want to me. No numpad but very small form factor.

I can't tell if this is the "tactile" version (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...5a5311e2dc4123). They don't offer this in a tactile version so this one won't work.

EDIT: After some more research, the Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless with Cherry MX 'blues' is my top pick so far.

You might want to look also at the other options:

-Leopold MX Blues - TenKeyless similar to the Filco but at a cheaper price point - Elitekeyboards.com

-PLU ML-87 - Tenkeyless similar to the Filco and Leopold, but supposed quality is below the two (black does come with POM keycaps and I heard it is plate mounted unlike the Leopold). Can be found for under a hundered from some sellers on Geekhack. Think on eBay goes for over $100.

Some alternate layouts:

Noppoo Choc Mini - slightly smaller then the others i have mentioned (Filco, leopold,PLU).Dedicated arrow keys, plate mounted and decent laser etched keycaps.

KBC Poker - Very compact design, but drawbacks are no dedicated F keys and trade offs to get decidcated arrow keys also. Some complain about the build quality ( some flexing etc). I have this keyboard in blues and love it.

Cant go wrong with a Filco but there are alot of options out there.
