I will second the TIM choices on that, just make sure its shin-etsu x23 7783d compound which is pretty much the best out there. MX-4 if you wanna keep it cheap and easy.

get some ispropyl alcohol to clean it. The higher the % the faster it will clean the CPU and the you wont have to wait as long for the cpu to dry. Also with the 212+ try to get a tooth pick or something pointy and get into the crevices between the copper pipes and aluminum. You'll find that there is alot of left over tim.

Ambient temps are the temps around your rig, such as your room. It's probably just the summer heat that's affecting your temps. I tend to see a 5-15C difference between now and winter depending on my overclock and ambient temps.

yeah the summer heat explains it during the day, but when i'm looking at my temps at like 2:00 AM , with the tower fan blowing directly into my case from where i took my side panel off, and i got another fan to pull the air out from the top of my case fan . im still hitting 40 C

its pretty much just rubbing alcohol just make sure that it states ispropyl on it. And yes she is a goddess! Why isnt there an Olivia Wilde club? hmm
EDIT: you want something like 95-98% isopropyl alcohol. Its less water which means less wait for it to dry. Also shin etsu .5g is small so be wise on how you apply it.

I dont know, maybe we should start one

Also, when you get the shin-etsu, it can be tough to spread out so get a cup of hot water and let it sit in there until it heats up, then wipe off the tube and apply you TIM. Try not to get any water in there, and you dont want to touch it because of the oils on your hands.
