Messed up Laptop Videocard?

Thread Starter
My laptop has a Geforce Go 6150 and I cant install the Nvidia drivers or else it wont boot up into windows properly (Trust me, I installed the correct drivers). It was this way ever since I forced it to Shut down during an update for the Nvidia Drivers.

Anyway, I tried re-installing Windows, and reformatting and it doesn't work.

I can however install Dx9, and dx9 games work, but with horribly low FPS.

Anyone have any idea on how to make it work with Nvidia drivers installed?

Thanks very much!

I quite often used the Omega Drivers, which are 3rd party, but very good.

You can download these from here for your Nvidia card

They work great with older hardware and gave me a nice FPS boost on a ATI Mobility 9000 a few years ago

Did you get the drivers from the manufactures website? One thing I've learned working on laptops is that manufactures write specific drivers for their chip and type of display in their laptops since not all laptops are alike. Try those drivers and see if it works.

I do use those drivers, if I try to install the ones directly from Nvidia it gives me an error saying to download the drivers from my manufacturer's website

then on that note, have you tried getting updated drivers from manufactureers website?
also you could try drivercleaner pro see if that clears things out for you.... just a thought
