dirt 3 issue - Page 2

That's a CRT? It looks like one. It's quite likely that the issue is in the monitor itself.

If it's a CRT, go adjust the image size settings to fit the entire screen.

If it's LCD, disregard.

If what De-Zant said doesn't work, all I can think of is that it just doesn't like 4:3. Some games don't play nicely with certain ARs. I remember Witcher 2 not working well with 16:10 and people were (are) pissed.

Dirt 3 works with 4:3 dude. I know. I've played it mostly with a 4:3 CRT.... lol

Does Windows look fine at 1600x1200? Check the refresh rate and just force it to the same refresh rate you use in Windows. You can try changing the refresh rate in Dirt 3, but it never works for me so do it in the config.

If you normally use 75 in Windows and have set the monitor image sizes up for that resolution, but no others, that could be the problem. If not just manually adjust the image size in the monitor control panel.

windows looks fine and i play 20+ other games without a problem. if i change resoultion to 1400x1050 it actually gets bigger in the screen. go lower stays the same. its annoying and im wondering if its because im using a dvi/vga adapter.
Codemasters games mess up the refresh rates, so the image size settings on the screen also get messed up because it's not the same resolution / refresh rate combination. Seriously, just try using the monitor OSD to resize. It's probably the solution to go with.

DVI VGA adapter does nothing with this tbh.

it does with my motherboard, because of the adapter it screws up the bios to where you cant see it. remove the adapter, perfect. its kinda strange lol. Thats the only reason i thought of it.
