Bad Company 2 freeze to white screen with gtx 580

So I just installed BC2 on my new build and it will play for about 10 mins and then freeze and then the screen goes white. I can still hear the game sounds but can not click anything and have to close the game through task manager. Originally, I had had my gtx 580 overclocked to 875/1750/2222 on stock voltage, but I set the gpu back to stock and it still crashed. I was using the Forceware 275.33 driver which I am pretty sure is the most recent one.

I have now installed some older drivers, 266.58, and it is still crashing to a white screen within 10 mins. I am running GPU-Z in the background and my gpu has never gotten over 71C. My PSU is a Corsair TX650W V2.

Any ideas?

Have you tried reinstalling the game? It works great with my 580 and latest drivers.

I have the same problem as you, just with a 460.

What happens is that the display driver stops responding and is being restored. Then the game is white, but you can still hear the sound and walk around, shoot after its restored. Only way to fix it is to restart the game, I haven't found any solution to it.. Pissin' me off for the last 2 months :/

Have tried different drivers too, and it ONLY happens with BC2.

***, so you have lived with this for the last 2 month?? I can literally only play for like 7-10mins before this happens.
If thats the case, I was better off with my core2duo and 8800gtx, damn.

yep.. can play from anything to 30-60 mins with or without a crash.. frustrating..

and sometimes it strikes me 3 times in a row with a restart every 10 minutes.
If I'm lucky I can play for an hour and then some.

"Try disabling your onboard audio / Realtek audio device in your BIOS and install a different sound card. I know it’s a horrible thing to have to do but I’ve disabled my onboard Realtek and have been using a Creative XiFi PCI Card for a week or so (several 90min sessions), without a problem."
