Need help finding a good CPU cooler for use in HAF 912 =/

With a budget of about $35-40.. what's a good aftermarket CPU cooler to put on my i3 2100?

I know its probably not needed, but I just want to do it once since I got this system working fine... I'm gonna build my actual dream system next summer... so this will be a practice run

I have a HAF 912 case, and my friend's brother's comp has the CM Hyper 212 cooler... and its freaking huge... I'm not sure if I can run it with a side fan on the side panel of my 912.

I looked on newegg and there's tinier coolers, but there's a lot of them and I don't know which are good... cuz the reviews are retarded (ie. cons: I cut my finger when I moved my finger too close. DERP NO ****) lol.

Also, will cooling systems made for LGA 1156 work for LGA 1155?

Thanks!

I use a V6GT with no problems at all, and I'm pretty sure bigger coolers like Silverarrow and Noctuas will fit aswell, just keep an eye on tall ram.

I "guesstimated" using the hyper 212 in my case and it seems like it might fit... but just barely =/

and it seems kinda hard to install idk how to remove my mobo but i have opening to access mobo backside in my case... so that mite help a bit.

are there any "tinier" coolers that work just as nicely but cost <35-40 bucks?

Hyper 212+ is perfect for your needs, space, performance and budget. They go for 30$ at normal price, maybe 20$ on rebate.

I have a side intake fan and the 212 sits about an inch above and away from it as for the mobo idk because we have different ones but I have push/pull on my 212 and it just fits in between the cpu and memory lots with all slots occupied by memory and i have corsair vengeance which are pretty tall..

The side intake fan on the 912 is above the GPU area, so you should be fine installing a COOLER MASTER 212+ on a COOLER MASTER HAF 912.
