Dissapointed with tracking/ feel of G9x...

First off welcome all, first post here. I've been reading through this sub-section all day trying to find a new mouse for me.

The things I look for in a mouse are:
1. the level of control I have over the cursor(comfort and feel),
2. the quality of the tracking,
3. the quality of the main two buttons.
4. my quality test is how precisely I can make extremely small circles.

I'm using a G9x after trying to switch from an imperator which is cruelly shaping my hand, I should post a pic, lol. I have this constant need to eagle claw someone's face and more pertinently, to use said grip with any new mouse I try.

I am dissapointed in this Logitech as it definitely has better buttons than the imperator, but it feels terrible and for me(read below), has worse tracking.

The way that I play all of my games is setting the dpi to max along with the polling, and the sensitivity as low as possible. I do not like to lift the mouse at all if I don't have to, and have very good command of precise aiming while only moving the mouse laterally around an inch even for huge sweeping camera spans...

Maybe I should use a trackball... lol. I have a Propus 380 pad and am seriously considering the Naos 5000 as I usually switch between palming for browsing, and claw for gaming. Maybe Rat is right for me?

One thing is for sure though, on this mouse pad I can more precisely draw tiny circle with the Imperator which makes me feel like it tracks better at 5700/1000 at least than the G9x.

Any ideas on a new mouse?

I love my G9x. It is perfect for my small hands. I also use a PROPUS 380 and do just fine with it in games.

I use about 2400 DPI with 1000 Polling and adjust the sensitivity accordingly. I have my mouse heavy with the weights. I never lift the mouse up and I like turning corners quick.

In like Day of Defeat S, I put the sensitivity to highest and for say Call of Duty 4 it is lower.

I also prefer "palming for browsing, and claw for gaming" like yourself, and switch the grips a lot.

I don't know of any other mouse that can change grips/shape other than the RAT 7/9. But I have heard some cruddy things about it's sensor. It does have a big fanbase here.

I cannot draw a perfect circle in Paint either but I think that's 'cause I suck at drawing.

Maybe practice? Here are some piccies using Precision grip in Day of Defeat S. I'm on the right.

Yeah thanks for the response, I have big hands and long fingers so it's slightly uncomfortable with both grips.

I feel that this mouse has a much higher level of quality than the Razer's so I probably will just stick with it for now at least.

I think I would prefer something like the deathadder/ xai/ zowie due to that classic and beloved(to me) shape of the Intellimouse Optical.

Like other's I'm only recently coming out of my "laser is superior, dpi is godly," trance that Razer has left me in so it's hard to decide which way to go.

Isn't it less accurate/ precise for the pointer at a low dpi/ high sensitivity rather than a high dpi/ lower sensitivity? I'm a high sensitivity player.

Lol@ screen shots. I would suggest the Zowie EC1/EC2 depending on your hand size. Zowie mice all have top notch sensors and high quality builds. Plus their shape is good for both palm and claw.

Can I get away with using the Zowie on my Propus 380 hardpad and not notice a decline in tracking coming from a G9x?

Optical mice shouldn't have a problem on hardpads, although in general they are better on cloth pads. It's only laser mice that really need hardpads.

I was just defending the G9x's tracking. While it might not be good for him personally, others shouldn't be hesitant from purchasing it and I was just showing that. The G9x needs love now that the Spawn is out.

I also want to throw it out that I have an extra G9x to trade if some of you collectors want to part with a deathadder black/Abyssus, EC1/2, or even a xai/kinzu.

Long story, but yes I have 2 brand new-ish G9x's

Sold them on CL, sorry.

I think I may bite on the Abyssus I'm not sure how that mouse slipped by my radar.

I love the amidextrous design, the hardware toggles on the bottom, and the sensor.

Wasn't planning on getting another Razer, but for $30 on amazon it just came out very much on top of all the other potentials.
