I've always wondered.
Who makes the motherboards for OEMs like Dell and Acer, and how can I contact them?

Foxconn does a lot of them though I think.
I don't actually have a production-build I can get into.
The geniuses at Packard Bell put solder over the screws to the back panel of this thing.

It's probably not by accident. I know Compaq used to solder cpus into the motherboard, so that they couldn't ever be upgraded. They figure it'll generate more sales since you have no room to upgrade.

My old HP c2d has a modified Asus mobo in it...

I have a Asus mobo AM2 socket with socket 775 cooler setup that came out of an HP.
