Honestly, they need to do something with the spotting system. It definitely makes it easier to get kills (I get a ton of kills by spotting through foliage and from long distances). Just remembering back to Battlefield 2, I cannot recall on whether or not they had a 3D spotting system. I don't think they did.

However, I think you have to remember that there is a lot more foliage in BC2/BF3, making it difficult to actually find players, especially from long distance. Honestly, I don't think I would be bothered if they did away with 3D spotting. It would add more realism to the game.

I think the weapons are fairly balanced. I did not like the balance of the weapons in BC2. I almost played Assault exclusively because of this.

I LOVE Operation Metro so far. BC2 Rush mode was fundamentally broken because of the map design. Often the maps were one sided and it killed the gameplay for me. Another reason I mostly only played conquest or squad deathmatch. Operation Metro is fun because you start out in a more open environment and them move into a tight tunnel. Changes the dynamic of the game completely.
Did you post any of this on the private forums?

Remember that there is always 'hardcore' without the 3D spotting. Personally I'll be playing hardcore the vast majority of the time. As you say, no 3D spotting adds realism to the game.

And why would you think i think it's a free ride?

I submitted feedback and reported bugs i've encountered and I was more specifically talking about those overzealous people who want to play the alpha more for the game than testing. It's not like I made a thread and asked for people's code and how they got it..

Stop putting alphas on a pedestal like its some god given privilege.. testers are exactly what they are testers and aren't some people magically rewarded with a grace of bf3 tease. The main point of being a tester is not to enjoy the game (you can do that along the way i guess) but to find the bugs.. and frankly if you don't even do that then what's the point. I gain no satisfaction in playing a game yet to be optimized and if you do get your jollys from it good for you. You all make playing an alpha like you live or die by it.

Finally got around to play around a bit but I don't know if it's the new 280 beta drivers or just that the game has some crazy graphics compared to BC2, only getting around 40fps max lol. I found it odd since I max out BC2 on everything and still get over 90fps. Guess it's finally time to buy that GTX 580.
