OK, I have a Galaxy S that the speaker died and T-Mobile sent me a new phone. Now I need to save and transfer all the data and apps over to the new phone. I have a 16GB SD card in it. Can I put everything on it to transfer to new phone. Last time I used the "Save to SIM", I lost half my phone numbers and contacts.

It's an android. your contacts are saved to your google account
use sms backup to backup your texts and use titanium to backup your apps

Thanks, I was able to save my contacts to SD card, but the Titanium app is only for rooted phones and mine is not.

Download app brain and sign up for an account with them. Sync your apps to app brain and on the web gui it will show you all your apps and rename the list Galaxy S Old.. On the new phone download app brain and fast web installer. after app brain is installed and you put in your account info and run fast web installer. It will start a new list on App brain and call that Galaxy S New.

Then select your apps on the Galaxy S Old and copy them to the Galaxy S New list. Fast Web Installer should install the apps. if not just sync your app brain on your phone to the web and it will pull up the apps and just run the installs.

You will lose any of your data in the apps mind you. But this is an easy way to get your apps to your phone.
