Q6600 overclocking issues - Page 6

Thegza do you have an 'overvolting' page or something similar?

Someone explained to me that the reason that the *actual* FSB is so much higher than these FSB frequencies was the number of cores in the processor...
Though I have no idea if this is correct...

Set your RAM Mhz to as low as it can go. If it's the B1 Stepping, you will most likely have to put more voltage through the board to get a better OC.

Then try and start to OC the FSB. Most likely you can get your Memory to run as low as 400Mhz at stock Front Side Bus, then increase it from there.

I just have a System Voltages page, which in in the Advanced Chipset Features page.

I never left, but I have yet to see the information I requested. Without said information, I cannot help much here as a B3 will overclock MUCH lower and run at MUCH HIGHER voltages than a G0. G0 also can go higher on the same voltages as the B3 and run cooler. Also B3 has issues hitting high FSB (I have seen walls at 333). My Q66? Been to 478x9 on this thing, but benched at 467x9.

I have hit 495x6 (FSB overclocking). B3s are lucky to hit 400

That's good - keep the RAM Mhz Low and keep increasing the CPU speed.

The option to change the CPU PLL should be in with the System Voltages Well, I hope so anyhow.

you prob have a really bad binned cpu if you need 1.4v for a 3ghz overclock. I also recommend not to unlink the ram as in my ventures with my 790I Ultra it caused more problems then solved.

What you need to do first is see how high you can overclock your memory first as that is really your limiting factor right now as 800mhz @ 5-5-5-15 is about the worst speed of ram you can use unless you can run it on a better divider. Way you do that is turn multi to lowest and just keep upping the fsb. set your ram voltage @ 1.9v also.

Also set your ram timings to auto that way its more relaxed and can HOPEFULLY get a better oc.

Lord Xeb, I checked CPU-Z and I have the latest release version of Q6600. The better one so I hear.

Lowest my CPU Multiplier will go is 6x
