Is 650w enough?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a SeaSonic X650 and I was wondering if 650W is enough for any single video card solution I might choose in the future.

I'm going to be installing this in my sig rig. 2600k, possibly OC'd, 3 storage drives, a blu-ray drive. I don't ever plan on running a multi-card setup but I want to make sure I have enough power for an OC'd CPU and a high end GPU. I'm not sure if I'll be buying said GPU any time soon but I'd like to keep the option open.
I currently own a 4870x2 but I plan on replacing it eventually.

Also, how does XFX fair in the PSU dept? I currently have a XPS65w but I wasn't planning on using that in my new build.

that depends on your gpu...if you'd buy the gtx 590...then you need a minimum of 600w...then if 580 is what you're going for...it's 500w.

I'm pretty much trying to prepare for the worst case scenario (as much draw as possible from a single card).

650 will be fine but i'd go for a 750 or even an 850 for the extra headroom and an element of future proofing.

Its not going to cost you much more and will give you more room for the possibility that the next gen of cards use more power, and you can use it for the next 3-5 years if you get a decent one.

Not sure on XFX, I've had a coolermaster 700 silent power for about 3 years and it seems to be still running perfectly. I have heard read great review on enermax psu's too.

i don't think so....590/6990 are dual graphics cards and require monstrous amounts of power...they top on power consumption...IMO i think it will at least take 3 years for TS to replace a 600w psu.

Its a Quality PSU, I would go for a 750 just for extra headroom, but that PSU should be capable of handling your Rig

XFX units are actually manufactured by Seasonic, but the Seasonic X is better as the XFXs are built on older or less expensive platforms. They're still good though and have reviewed well.
