CHV CPU Light on

Ive checked for bent pins, re-seated it. Pulled from the case and ran it on an anti-static surface. With/without Heatsink on it for a few seconds, nothing. Light stays on and my monitor is still blank. I also have the little speaker hooked up and I'm assuming it's in the right place(the ASUS Q connector) and it doesn't beep.

I'm thinking that may be my only option unless someone else has run into the same problem and found a fix.

Also have you tried clearing your CMOS? Pull out the battery off the mobo for ten minutes then reinstall it and try to boot it up!

Only tried Via the button on the board, but I'll try pulling it.

Might be a loose cable on your power supply - gently wiggle the cables. It happened to me on a previous build where CPU Red Light was on - so it's worth a try. Also Phenoms are picky about RAM, tried to boot with only 1 stick?

I've tried 1 stick in each slot. If it is a loose cable or something of the sort, will the light go out without having to recycle the power?

Are you sure you hooked the 8pin cpu power connector to the motherboard? Make sure you have, and also if you have make sure it isnt a pcie 8pin.

In my case yes, as soon as it caught full power the light went out and it was able to cycle through it's tests.

I'll keep trying. I've been working on this for the past 6 hrs and I'm starting to get burnt out.

Yes, I took the cap off and plugged both 4 pin connectors in.
