Need a laptop $600

Hey guys, need to choose a laptop for a friend in high school. Don't need to game or do anything fancy, just school stuff.

13-15", not too heavy, decent battery life, and a webcam. Under $600 please

I know ppl have some gripes with HP but I've had an HP laptop before and it works great. this one looks great and is not that heavy. I know the price says $799.99 but its actually $599.99 in their weekly ads. On top of that, you get $100 off if you have a valid student ID that you can show them (i think this deal is still going on...don't quote me on it)

Spill resistent keyboard, 2nd generation intel core i5, 6 hour battery life, seems like a no brainer to me. But if she says it's too heavy I'll look for a lighter one.

Just got my dad that Lenovo G520 after weeks of research in the same price range. It's amazing, imo the best buy you can get at the money. They make a 14" version too.

Here's the Thinkpad Edge E420 instead of the E520, it's a bit smaller and $100 cheaper:

I'm buying a laptop for myself, I've been looking at this one here:
