BF fanboys? - Page 3

BF fanboy-mania, IMO, started after EA started their aggressive advertising campaign for BF3; the majority of them are probably disillusioned COD players anyway. Many of my friends had never even heard of battlefield until recently. I myself switched over to BF after I got sick of MW 2 (been playing COD since the onset of the series, COD 2 being my favorite). I don't consider myself a fanboy of anything and believe that every game has it's own niche. Honestly, I wish EA hadn't hyped BF3 so much. I just hope DICE stays true to their roots while continuing to innovate. I really think COD just needs to die out and whats left of the team(s) that have worked on the series need to form a new stand-alone title or franchise.

Meh. To each his own. Cod is nothing but run, spray & pray. there is no realism to COD (bullet drop/environmental factors ect) and no tactics to it.
Battlefield is more about tactics and is more realistic, both in look and feel.

I'll play COD4/BO every once in a while, but its mainly BF for me.

I was a former Battlefield fanboy. I loved BF1942 and BF2. I still play Project Reality regularly.

However, when I bought I tried out Bad Company 2, I thought it was absolutely horrible (and I still think it is). The overall gameplay failed to impress me, and tied with dumb objectives, awkward gun/firing animations, and the inability to prone totally made me return my DL'd copy. At least EA was nice enough to accept returns.

I've been playing the BF series since they released BF1942 and I've played almost every one since (only missed 1943 and BC1). I enjoy the strategy that is required by the game. The Bad Company series was only designed to compete directly with COD, and I think it did a fantastic job, but it's definitely more open with larger maps and slower gameplay.

COD and Battlefield are two different game for different people. I play COD occasionally but the "Rush" and fast pace kinda turn me off it after a while.

Yea tactics don't work for me in COD. Never have.

I get more pissed and stop playing COD when I unload a clip straight into them, and they kill me instead.

I'm a pain in the ass in BC2. I creep around, and hide like a mothersucka. Recon is my favorite.

I'll still be picking up BF3 and MW3.
