Amount of screws to secure a mobo?

Thread Starter
A bit of a silly question I guess, but how many screws should one use to secure a motherboard?

I currently just have four, one in each corner. But I have the brass risers under all the other holes, just without screws under them.

So, is it ok to leave it as is, or do you recommend I put more in? And if so, which ones can I use? I only have the four of the actual mobo screws, but a metric assload of every other screw, including 3.5" HDD screws and such.

Well, since I havent had any issues with it so far, I'm guessing its ok. I just want to know if its good or bad fro the motherboard is all.

i would screw in as many screws as possible.
Having less screws will probably cause more stress to be put on specific parts of the motherboard.

Well, I just used screws similar to those, just without the notching on the underside of the heads.

Im guessing if there was an issue, like they were causing a short, I'd notice as soon as I turned my pc on, eh?

Did you check the manual? They have the spots for screws marked out in a picture...

I used these.

Mine has 6.
