PSU for Gtx 580 maybe SLI - Page 2

I wouldn't run that CM PSU for SLI 580's, personally, unless I was not overvolting anything on the machine (like, bone stock CPU and GPU's).

Reason being it's not an esp. good 700W unit (it's not terrible or anything, but it's also nothing great) and 700W is about the bare minimum I'd consider adequate for 580SLI. If I were your buddy I would seriously consider investing in a beefier PSU for that rig. I would run nothing less than an excellent 750W unit, or a good 850W unit.

Others here may disagree (there's a contingent on OCN that likes to suggest buying the absolute bare minimum PSU required to make the rig work), but that's my opinion on the subject. Running near capacity on the PSU gives you worse efficiency, wears out your components faster and limits your OC/OV'ing options down the road. Not worth the small savings involved in my book
