Very! Both eBuyer and Scan are about the only two I trust right now (unless I learn about other stores that I can start using as well).

How much can you spend on a new PSU? I mean, is there an absolute limit or anything?

Hi guys, I just registered to recommend Aria.co.uk for buyers in the UK. I've just ordered components for a new system from them and they have been excellent service and price wise. Very helpful forum as well.

I also have a MSI GeForce GTX 580 Twin Frozr II OC 1536MB GDDR5 in the new build I have from them as well. As far I can tell they have a great reputation.

I also ordered some Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic cleaner from them using their Aria Bytes loyalty scheme (buy things>get Aria Bytes>Redeem them for useful little things or a save them for a big expensive thing.)

Ordered last night and it arrived this morning. And that was with Royal Mail! I was expecting next week to be honest.

I'd say my top limit for everything would be say £600... which is really £100 more than I want to spend. I was hoping to get another 4 gig of RAM along with the GPU and the PSU too - the single stick I have looks lonely

So £600 for the GPU, PSU and RAM in total (don't need help with the RAM though).

Oh I can also vouch for Aria - they are very good in my limited experience.

That doesn't leave much room for the cost of the PSU, so may I recommend some non-modular PSUs?

I was hoping that you guys would be able to shed some light on the differences between the various 580 brand GPUS (i'm assuing that GTX is the way to go)?

What i'd like to know is if there are differences between the various cards on the market? I'm not looking to overclock till my PC is on its last legs (see: a few years) so this isn't a big factor in my decision.

I noticed the MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr II card. I'm assuming from the name () that this card should have a cooler overall temperature than other cards? Is there a performance hit or should I be directing my attention to other obviously better cards?

I'd also need a PSU to go with the card (with the potential to also go SLI if my mobo will allow it in the future - it's in my sig if anyone fancies a look).

Looking to run everything at 'max' (1920x1080, single monitor display).

Budget around the £500 mark (can be stretched slightly at the expense of waiting another month).

Hope you can all help!

Boygor

To be honest I have no idea what a modular PSU is...

Say I will be able to purchase the MSI Lightning and a (decent) PSU, what make/ model would be the best fit so to speak? I'm looking for specific PSU recommendations

And thanks for the GPU list Aniket, i'll look at the benchmark data later!

a modular PSU is one that allows you to remove the wiring harnesses to decrease the jumble in your case.

the corsair TX850 would get you where you want to be comfortably if you dont want to push the limit on a 750w

Definitely Unless you have countless fans and pumps, but from what I can tell you don't watercool, so the AX850 will be plenty enough for SLI'd 580.
