ADATA vs Mushkin - Page 2

Thread Starter
Sorry to revive this thread. I was just looking at them again since I had nothing to do and looked at the voltages. Do the ADATA's need to be at 1.75V to be stable at 2000mhz with the listed timings?

Dang 1.75v is some serious voltage for stock settings.

Yeah. Lots of people have plans for Bulldozer (and Piledriver), I being one of them.

It seems insane. I'm just not clear if you need 1.75V to get to 2000mhz with the listed timings stably without frying the memory controller or itself.

Okay, be carefull though, we are not 100% sure if Bulldozer or Piledriver will have a memory voltage limit like Sandy Bridge yet frown.gif

Yeah. I heard somebody here say that Bulldozer and/or Piledriver will be able to perform good with higher speeds unlike Phenom II ATM which doesn't seem to perform good with high speed RAM (considering that 1866mhz isn't fast)

Adata specs their RAM variably in terms of voltage. You may need between 1.55 and 1.75V to operate stable at 2000 9-11-9. It does not mean that you immediately require 1.75V.

So I can go up to 1.75v without the chips fry. I'm probably not going to overclock the RAM though, just try to tighten the timings.
