Ah, that was a mistake on my part, misread 6790 as 6970... good save.

I already knew that he was selling it for $900, which was why I listed in the OP that he could sell it for far more than the $900 he listed it as.

I just may contact him and find out more about it. Right now, it's extremely fishy. As someone else said, the grammar/punctuation was terrible and all in one line, which usually flags it as bad.

Well lets look at price of components based on used item sales on these forums.

i7-975 $400 shipped http://www.overclock.net/completed-t...-i7-975-a.html

800D $180 http://www.overclock.net/cases/99495...-800d-new.html

HX1000 $150 shipped http://www.overclock.net/completed-t...er-supply.html

6790 $130 new on newegg, so ~$100 used shipped

Blue ray burners $50 shipped each http://www.overclock.net/other-compo...-blue-blu.html

OCZ 40gb (assume gen 1)- Can't find these used anywhere, but I'd assume $1.20 per gb is reasonable. $192 total

1 TB HD- $40 used shipped

EVGA classified $165 shipped http://www.overclock.net/main-compon...-ssd-sale.html

$1317 raw amount.
Now since its not shipped, well take out $15 per shipped item so $15 x 7= $105= $1212

Now lets say a 20% discount for a whole rig rather than part out
$1212x.8=$970 market rate used.

It's not that much of a stretch to put it at $900 if you really needed some money.

Detroit? You're gonna get shot, fool.

OT: It's probably legit, but I still wouldn't trust it. Craigslist listings are usually full of lies.

I get the impression that IF there is something dodgy then there's something wrong with the system, i.e some part of it doesnt work, as apposed to it being stolen.

Do you guys really think if someone had stolen this, they would waste time advertising it on a listings website? No they wouldnt.

The poor picture quality only strengthens my opinion regarding something being damaged or not working.

No it clearly means he's trying to sell it for a dollar.
