I've only ran Steam on my laptop, and it's always felt like a bloated piece of crap. I find it amusing that people are so opposed to Origin, when it seems to me it has a great chance of being better than Steam.

not to derail thread but can anyone please give some major points of why/how origin is supermegaultra terribad. Compared to steam or not...seems like installing this software will instantly set your entire family on fire and eat unborn babies its that bad..not one of these fanboy hater tards has ever said why its bad though?

They don't have any.. people just hate and keep hating without even trying it.. which is even more sad.

No one complained when you installed TF2 you need Steam, same goes for CSS, and hell even Half Life.

Yet EA gives it a whirl and does a great job imo, and everyone starts complaining. Get over it.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it's just another game manager that I have to use besides Steam. I would have liked BF3 to be on Steam so I could just keep everything together but since that's mostly likely not the case it doesn't really matter.

Then again I had to install Origin anyway because of the alpha so I'll probably just pre-order BF3 on it since I haven't yet because I was waiting to see if it would come out on Steam.

Agreed. I had to install it for the alpha, and although I was never opposed to it to begin with, I like it. I really don't see what the big deal is.

Because we know Steam. They've provem themselves. And the last thing I want to do is have ANOTHER one of these programs, one is enough.

But my want need for BF3 far outweighs everything I just said.

I like Origin too!

It has a Browser, can browse the internet while waiting to spawn and dont have to go out of the game to do it <3
