My first build, ever!

So,

Now it's time! To pull the trigger and buy and make myself my first build Just want to share the parts with you and listen if you have something to change or something like that. I have a pretty restricted budget, so this is the "best" I came up with:

Fractal Design Define R3
ASRock P67 Extreme4
Intel Core i5-2500K
MSI R6870 Hawk Twin Frozr III 1024MB
4GB DDR3-1333Mhz
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
Antec TruePower New 650W
DVD-RW
Scythe Mugen 2 Rev.B

What do you think? The GPU is a bit old HW, but is plenty enough for my needs

Get the Extreme 4 Gen3 version. It will have PCI-E 3.0 Support along with some other things that will be seen in the X79 Chipset. Either that or a Good Z68 Board will be much better.

But they are much more expensive, and I really don't need those features. As far as the motherboard goes, I'm pretty sure I'll buy the Extreme4, P67 that is.

It is 800-900 €. That setup costs around 850-860 € here in Finland.

Great build. You could even buy another 6870 when the price is right in a year or so and you'll have a rockin' system for 3-4 years.

Looks good to me, Nice choice of components for your budget. Asrock boards have alot of features for the price compared to others and perform just as good.

I don't know about prices there, but the p67 Extreme4 gen3 board here is like 10 dollars more. Not a big increase.

Wow! I can't even find that extreme4 gen3 board anywhere, and the z68 version is 30 euros more than the p67. So I think the gen3 will be at least 50-60 euros more...
