Why are those your two choices? The first one has a better processor, but the video card isn't terrific.

the 260 is only 5% slower than the 5770, but the rest of the PC #1 is many many times better

Yeah, but an i7 with a 260 is a tad bit unbalanced. If he's just going for some light-weight gaming, the Phenom should handle it fine. This question would be better with prices, though.

Nevermind.

If the Phenom rig comes with all that stuff that the i7 one doesn't, I would almost lean toward the AMD machine.

So... let's buy the PC with ALL components slower, because the PC with 1 component slower is *unbalanced*??

The Intel rig, although I don't like Intel, is better by far.
The AMD one doesn't really come with anything more than the intel, and this Phenom is Tri-Core!!

For 900 vs 800$, it's just out of the question.

EDIT: Actually, I just saw that the AMD comes with Windows.
I flip, AMD is better

Well, obviously. But if he's going to have to buy a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers, that's another $100+, right? Just saying that $200 more for unneeded CPU power might not be worth it. I'm not trying to argue with you.

The First One's GPU is a Tad bit slower, but the Processor is Much better than the other PC's. The First One will perform better

Going to be honest i think for that price both of them suck. I think i could do better for 900 bucks.
