2 Questions

First off, it's a MacBook Pro... and before you say "ahhh why did you waste your money on it", it was a graduation present from my dad who works for apple. Anyways, I run bootcamp and am using Windows 7 Ultimate atm. Specs are at bottom.

Question 1 - I have just 4GB of RAM, if I were to put 2 sticks of 4GB RAM (8GB total) does anybody have an idea for how that would change my computer?

Question 2 - I like to play games, and my HD is only 320GB. If I were to buy an external hard drive would I be able to install games onto it and play them? I have like 75GB left on the Windows side, and like 130GB on Mac side.

Any help would be much appreciated.

-2.4GHz Intel Core i5 Processor; 3MB shared level 3 cache.
-4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM
-320GB 5400-RPM hard drive
-15.4 inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display; 1440 by 900 pixels
-Intel HD Graphics
-NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
-Built-in iSight video camera
-8x slot-loading SuperDrive
-Mini DisplayPort
-SD card slot, FireWire 800 port, two USB 2.0 ports
-Optical digital audio/analog audio input and output ports; built-in stereo speakers
-Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet
-Built-in AirPort Extreme wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
-Backlit keyboard and ambient light sensor.
-Preinstalled Mac OS X and iLife
-Size and weight: 14.35 by 9.82 by .95 inches; 5.6 pounds
-Meets ENERGY STAR requirements

Answer 1: Unless you are doing some serious 3D Modelling or video editing, it won't do anything. Save your money.

Answer 2: I wouldn't install your games on an external. Buy one and put pictures, school stuff, downloads/uploads, and movies on it.

How come you're worrying about space when you have quite a bit left? Just curious. Also, xdanisx game some good general advice.

Alright thank you guys very much!

And I'm worrying about space because I figured the more you put on it, the slower it will go.(Not slow down a lot, just some) And I wanna have space for the future.

Just try to keep your documents backed up elsewhere and try not to keep a bunch of random crap you don't need. As long as you defrag every now and then you shouldn't run into any slow-down issues.

C-A-P-S CAPSCAPSCAPS

Anyway's get some a big thumb drive or buy an external for school and documents, as forementioned. I mainly just wanted to post to share my Caps fandom.

A pair of these Corsair 16GB Thumbdrive can take a load off and give you something portable and cheap. Those are on ShellShocker so think hard if you want an external or just something to store docs on.
