Ebay it now then.

Try sell individual parts maybe.

See what works out the best.

I might as well just buy the gtx 570 and see how I get on with it and If i dont get the performance I want, put the gtx 260 back in and sell that system and keep the gtx 570 for the next one.

Ya I'll try Ebay and see if I can get the money I want if it comes to that, thanks for all the suggestions guys I appreciate it smile.gif

Be careful there.

Technology prices are crazy.

Up and down like a roller-coaster.

Plan smart.

If you wait 1-2 month the chances are the card might drop in price.

My advice.

Plan careful, buy all at once don't look back till you need to put games to low

Good luck if you come into any problems p.m if you like or leave message here

Well Aria, Scan and Overclockers UK are constantly altering, offering lower and slowly dropping prices on the parts we need, i7 2600K and the GTX570, as well as tons of other main components.

I dont know it just kept freezing the computer on prime and the north bridge was extremely hot to touch ( I found that out because the temperature for the north bridge was staying the same at 40C so i investigated by touching the heat sink on the north bridge and it definitely wasnt 40C) So after that I didnt bother trying to overclock again.

Why don't you spend the money to get the GTX 580 for now... and save up another 4 months for the new cpu to come out, and then upgrade. Its like $100-125 more, but seem like you got the $ right now so why don't get the best first.

Yes there will be some bottle necking right now with you current cpu, but then why don't go all out and get the best single card gpu right now, and save up more funds later since you aren't in a hurry.

You are so close to the next Intel CPUs, and they are advertising 30% increase from current SB cpus. I am sure the pricing will be around the same. If you aren't in a hurry, I would wait its only 4 months left. Get a new gpu and have fun with that for now.

Heck next year when you upgrade your cpu, I am sure you can find a nice deal on the GTX 580 and then add another one for SLI. Then you got an ultimate gaming machine for a long while =)

OP, I didn't mean to scare you about your CPU bottlenecking.

As long as you play in 1080p or higher, a GTX570 would be a great addition to your PC and (in my opinion) almost gives the perfect balance between your CPU and your GPU.

What I meant in my original post was anything MORE than a single GTX570 would start to bottleneck without CPU overclocking.

And it all depends on the type of games that you play and the resources it uses more.

Ya that sounds like a good idea. Anyone know where to get them at a good price. I do live in Ireland but It may be cheaper to buy them from america since the cheapest i could find a gtx 580 is £344 or (393euro) or ($562) and thats from an English website. It would just depend on the shipping from the states.
