Deleting windows 7

Thread Starter
Hi,

I recently got a new computer and it has windows on it. I decided to put in an ssd as boot disk and use the hdd the came with the new computer as storage.

After I installed windows 7 on it i see both hdd in windows and formatted the old one. I figured doing so will erase the old windows 7 but it didn't. Every time I turn on the computer it takes me to black screen to choose which i want to boot from. How do i remove the other one and just keep the one on my ssd?

Hit the start button, type MSCONFIG and hit enter.

You can modify the boot properties from the boot tab there. To remove it entirely, you could use the command line tool BCDEDIT.

Weird, my edit stays in the "edit" box, but not in the post. Strange.

in your run box type msconfig. goto the boot.ini tab and have it check valid boot paths. it should find which one is broken and let you delete it. after that reboot and you should be all set
