Which would be...global warming.
Thousands of years where humans didn't exist...Makes a difference you know when that homeless guy finishes his free red bull and lights the whole trash can on fire.

Guarentee you cavemen didn't have that issue.

Sorry your godless religion has been debunked yet again...
And every one of those fast extreme changes is believed to have been caused by something massive...like major valcanic erruptions, even a large meteor impact, or a massive change in plankton population in the oceans. All of which will cause a drastic increase in Carbon Dioxide in the air or put so much debis in the air that the sun can't get through.

The natural changes have been shown to occur very slowly...Yet even in the last 50 years dessert regions have increased by amounts never seen before in geological data.

When its all said and done...we might just be pissing in an ocean and not changing much. However, even pissing in an ocean will have the effect of turning your local area into piss...what will it hurt to at elast be mindful of it? Especially when energy production that isn't as bad for the environment is actually cheaper in the long run (read nuclear)

I don't even have to read all these pages to know the tone of the posts and the misinformation to be found therein.

The bottom line is that humans should change their behavior to minimize environmental impact regardless of the severity of the effects. It's just common sense to move to renewable resources - oil and coal certainly won't last forever. No conspiracy theories or big business propaganda can refute this.

Edit: Forbes isn't exactly a scientific source, either. Their interpretation means nothing.

i stated all that mayan stuff because most 2012 things come from something to do with them. it wouldn't suprise me if nothing happened in 2012 environmentally/apocalyptic at all. and i dont trust fox a whole lot.
http://www.universetoday.com/14645/2...r-solar-flare/
theres my counter link. what they describe will NOT happen. i can get more links. back to mayan, one person starts others follow and this guy joined in with his own 2012 theory. also no backing up scientists? just this one guy? thats like making a final report for school and only having 1 source.

I don't hate Japan or the Japanese, hell I was almost born there as my parents were stationed there during Nam. Plus who would not like some Hiney Heney Hoony ever now and then wheee.gif

And as for trees, keep planting them, we need them to replenish our supply of building materials and O2.

Its because of people like you that true scientists get nowhere nowadays unless its in quantum physics.

Please accept my 15 year in advance I told you so.

PS - no really sincere good-luck.
Really? I'm a supporter of peer review, going to college in a subject that is well needed today. What are you doing? I spread awareness to my friends about these subjects, I don't take a biased stance and tell them to read good relevant articles that have a nice scientific background linked to real studies. Yet I'm the people who makes scientists go nowhere? OOOOOk, keep thinking that buddy.

As for funding? Quantum Physics isn't even taken seriously, right now we don't know enough about theoretical quantum physics to produce any good results. We get results, though we would rather have nuclear physics produce cleaner running plants. Or chem engineering to create hydrogen batteries that perform better so we can use that hydrogen fuel station that was built in Cali. It's not about theory or physics, it's about producing real world results that will help our world today.

I love how these acolytes of the Global Warming faith have set it up to where the only scientists that have credibility are the ones that believe in the religion. Any scientist that attempts to be objective and doesn't buy the scam hook, line and sinker is labelled a right-winger and dismissed. That way nobody can ever actually challenge the veracity of the alarmists's claims because anybody that doesn't believe in man-made Climate Change is obviously not a "real" scientist.

Its kind of like how they always claim that any extreme in weather condition is caused by global warming:

Is it really hot? Global warming.
Is it really cold? Global warming.
Is it raining a lot? Global warming.
Is it not raining a lot? Global warming.
