uppgrading from e8400

Thread Starter
Im currently running a e8400 at 4 ghz and thats pretty painfull in bfbc2. Im looking to buy a uppgrade from my e8400, 4gb corsair 800mhz and p5qdeluxe with a gtx 470 soc. To something new and with more cores! Im from sweden and i dont really wanna put out more than 2000-3000 SEK or 313,97-470,96 USdollars. I would like to buy from the swedish sellers @ www.inet.se google translated http://translate.google.se/translate?hl=sv&sl=sv&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.inet.se%2F

Iam looking at 4gbs of ddr3, a phenom 955 and mobo am3+ to upgrade later but what do you guys think ?? ill rather spend less money and less look at me i got the newest hardware wich has simliar performance to cheaper stuff

I spent $580AUD on a 2500k, P8P67-M-PRO, 8GB Corsair XMS3 1600mhz and a NHC14..

Coming from a E8400 the pain in BFBC2 was horrid aha, I know how you feel.

if you don't want a aftermarket HSF it would be $472AUD..

How much you are willing to stretch your budget for good stuff is your choice..

The best for you imho would be 2500k, Cheap P67 Board, 4GB RAM (Dirt cheap) and say a Coolermaster 212 if you want to Overclock.

Even better, so now its just CPU/Mobo/RAM

CPU Would be 1 889 kr (Intel i5 2500k)

Motherboard 1000 kr (Gigabyte Z68AP-D3)

RAM 579 kr (Corsair 8GB CL9 1600Mhz XMS3)

3468kr Total. It is worth saving up and getting the best now..

You have a P5Q Deluxe which is one of the best motherboards for overclock..

Get yourself a used Q9550 E0 stepping and OC it @ 4GHz and you're done..

You'll get massive processing power (even more than with AMD PII X4 955 @ 4GHz)..

I have Q9550 @ 4GHz and it laughs at my OC'd GTX480..thumb.gif
