Bassy Headphones? FOR DUBSTEP! :D

Thread Starter
Hey guys im looking to buy some new headphones, i don't really want to spend over 60 pounds if i can help it...

But they need to pack some punchy DEEP bass, i cant seem to find any fit for the job, i was hoping you guys could help me out

i looked over some of the sennheiser headphone range and the HD438 seemed to be called "bassy" on the box ... but in reviews people are saying the bass really isnt there. so that put me off.

Any help with suggestions?

google the sony sony XB series if you want some serious bass.
I'd take a look at the sony mdr-xb series. Sennheisers aren't really known for their bass, low end and hi end, they're more controlled. The MDR-XB's can be a tad muddy if you're picky with bass extentions. If you're willing to fork over a little more I'd look around for some D2000's.

Edit: ninja'd!

If you want extra bass, look at the Ultrasone HFI-780. I have them and the bass is awesome. They run about 90 pounds, but I think it's worth the investment.

If $150 is too expensive for you, don't expect miracles to come out of whatever you choose. GOOD bassy headphones don't really start until $150. The better all around cans, that also feature great bass are all $200+.

As you said about Sennheiser, they offer zero bass. Steer clear from them, and any other headphones labelled "Studio Monitoring Headphones" or similar, as they offer no color in the sound because they are designed for music engineering where every note needs to be exactly accurate with no bass, or anything else added to the music.
