I think its good for such a small case, 200mm fan in front, and 120mm on top, plus the side is meshed so you can set your psu to draw cool air in directly

The Q08 is a beautiful case.. If I had the cash (and needed a small formfactor case) I would definitely buy that one.

Ok... I read:

1) On Silent PC Review that it has a "hot spot" around the CPU - any comments?

2) 200mm fan in front? Will it hold that? I know it comes with a 140mm fan already.

1.) the CPU area is a somewhat small space between the power supply and mobo. If you face the PSU fan outward, I don't think it's that big of a deal. And for a home server that isn't CPU intensive + a low wattage CPU at that, it's really not going to be a big deal. What I did for my friend's build, is use the Corsair H60 mounted in the top 120mm

2.) It's 140mm, I think a 200mm would be the size of the entire front plate.

The cooling is pretty good on the Q08 because the 140mm intake is so close to the components, but if you loaded it with HDDs, they will be kept cool but not a lot of air will reach behind it.

If you like Lian Li and don't mind slightly bigger height wise, another good case for holding HDDs is the LIAN LI PC-A04B, this is what I use for my file server; fit's 10 drives after converting the 5.25"s

Another case I've been looking at is the Fractal Design Arc Midi.

Q08, A04, Arc Midi are all about the same price too.(from newegg)

Ok... thx. Fitting 3 HDD's in there may start to crowd things up a bit. My friend is not much into aftermarket cooling and stuff so I am going to be recommending that he consider a slightly larger case. I will look into those other recommended cases.
