I just wasted $10 on this game. It's too confusing.

And I figured everything out Crazy

It takes some time to learn, and even longer to master but here are the basics. You are a wizard and are facing off against other wizards. You draw your magical energy to cast spells from mana (which are represent by land types depending on which color you play, plains for white, forest for green, island for blue, swamp for black, mountain for red). You may play one mana per turn. During your turn you may either summon creatures (by paying the mana cost of the card in the upper right hand corner) or cast spells (by paying the mana cost the same way you do for creatures). In order to pay the mana cost of a card you "tap" your mana, which is usually denoted by taking the mana you have spent and moving it from a vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation. Once you have tapped your mana you cannot draw energy from it until your next turn (one of the very first phases of a turn is the untap phase, when everything, creatures, mana, etc untaps). You may only cast spells and summon creatures during your turn, however, there are other cards called instants (or interrupts depending on the version) that you can play at any time, even during your opponents turn if you have the mana available to you.

I could probably tell you more than you would ever want to know, but what I have posted above should give you a general idea of the basics. If you are interested in learning more shoot me a PM and we will play some games.

I'd probably enjoy MTG Online, but I can't justify paying for digital cards when I can buy real ones. That being said, if you wanted to get back into it most comic book/card shops host "Friday Night Magic," which lets people get together and play in tournaments for prizes.

If you just wanna play a little, check out MTG: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Its $10, has a single player campaign, 9 decks (I think) to which you can modify with the given cards for that deck, as well as online play. And you get a promo code with the game, and once you redeem it on the wizards.com site you can go to your local shop and they should be able to give you a promo card and 2 30-card decks to play with.

Yeah I just recently got back into it, I played from mercadian masques to Mirrodin, then quit, now I'm back and playing it again, been playing a lot of limited drafts in real life, haven't played the new set tho.

I play mtgo when I am stuck at home, I'm on and off it for months at a time.
If you got any questions u can ask I'm pretty knowledgeable of the game and MTGO itself.

I have like $500 worth of cards collected since last summer (Rise of the Eldrazi was my first set) and I have nobody to play with now.

I have a Kozilek and a couple Baneslayer Angels just hanging out in my closet with no blue decks to crush

I tried it once about 15 years ago in middle school, it was the most boring game I've ever tried.

And, I somehow ended up with something called a "Wrath of God" card with a very thick plastic case encasing it, and some owner of a comic book shop tried to buy it off me one day but, I was too busy drooling over Spawn comics.

I should of been more clearer I know how to play the game, I play Planeswalkers 2012 on LIVE all the time, it's just the menus are confusing to use in Magic Online. I guess I just have to play with it awhile. I raged last night trying to figure it out though.

when you think something is gonna open in the window, it opens a new window and all the "tabs" are across the bottom, it gets a bit confusing but you get used to it, the way i got acquainted with it was going to the tournaments room, and watching old tournaments of decks i liked or wanted to play, was knowledgable and also showed me how to "get along" with the user interface since there's no easy way to use it.
