This can more or less be of some help to you:

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforc...-sli-review/14

Your 1kW can do the trick - especially at stock clocks. If you are going to be overclocking all three though, that might require you to pick up a stronger PSU like an AX1200 or Antec HCP 1200.

I also recommend the Corsair AX1200. I am getting one for my rig. 1204.8w / 104 amps on the 12v rail alone!

It estimated that you'd need a little over 900 watts. Of course its not designed to calculate the exact setup you have, so I'm sure thats not completely accurate. Most likely you'd be fine on that PSU. I would upgrade to a 1200 personally. I went with the 1000w knowing I'd be doing 2-way SLI, so I'd have plenty of headroom. GL

A 1000-1200 watt will work fine for three 580s. Any more is a waste of money. Also i would love to see the source that says a 580 uses 430 watts. hahaha. It definitely does not use any where near that much power. 580s use around 250 watts each. So three of them 750 in GPUs plus 150W for CPU leaving you plenty of room for over clocking it with as much voltage as you can put into it without frying it. 1200w is really quiet overkill because unless you decide to overclock and run furmark and IBT at the same time you won't reach 1200w.

That sounds about right to me. 430 watt for an 580 and a stock CPU would be about right.
