Too big. the HPC-1200 is at the top of my list. How does one run out of space in an 800D? Click my rig sig link

I'd go the AX1200 purely because it has the power switch and then antec doesn't

The GTX 580's are power devourers. One would need about 430 Watts. 2x 860 watts. Also you are going to have everything else so that adds about 150 watts.
No.

@wermad Your OCZ is fine for three GTX 580's.

I don't want to sound rude, but honestly, there's no point in making a poll. Most people voting for "upgrade" probably aren't that knowledgeable on the subject of PSU's.

Gives everyone a chance to pitch in, even if they aren't thoroughly knowledgeable in the subject at hand. I hope some will read through the thread and enlighten themselves before voting. I know there a people who read the thread and feel intimidated about posting their opinion in fear of being ridiculed so they shy away.

Btw, I just got one 580, I'm waiting for my old gpu setup to sell and I might pick up another two. My psu is not garnering any attention so I'm going to keep it and see how far I can go with three 580s.

I'm not a big fan of ocz so I'd say get either a corsair hx1050 or an ax1200. Then again, I'm far from a psu expert...

I love the ax1200 but I have no space for it. So the HCP-1200 is my current #1 pick, just waiting for some one to pick up my ocz. It has been working great besides the cap noise when running three cards during benchies and gaming in 3240x1920. When I did run the Pheadrus experiment, it did shut down a couple of times, but that was it. It ran fine the whole time.

Nothing wrong with OCZ. And the HX1050 isn't that impressive.

I've voted that your 1000w (92% efficiency GOLD) will be plenty, on the assumption that you wont be folding 24/7

Based on a Guru3D review where they measured 736w PEAK during all their testing.

EDIT: That was the cards themselves, and the whole system pulled 933w at peak.

EDIT2: And they are using a 1200w PSU, so that might be the way to go, lol
