screen cracked replacement help!?

Thread Starter
I cracked the screen on my ASUS laptop and I wanted to know if anyone knew where I can buy a new one for a good price and I already removed the old screen and wanted to know if anyone knew how to properly dispose of it...

Ebay mostly, or just Google shopping search the part number. Pull the part number from the service manual if its not on a sticker somewhere on the panel itself.

any special ways to dispose of the old screen???
To dispose of electronics:First, Throw said product on ground. Second, Jump on said product 20-30 times(or until many pieces are everywhere). Third, sweep into trashcan. Done

There are electronics recycling collection places. If youre in the US you can usually search your state's .gov site for locations.

Depends on the screen as for disposal. Some have toxic materials that aren't legally allowed in normal trash. But honestly .... most people just ignore that unless they've got easy access to a proper disposal site and do a lot of that sort of thing. And I think it's more to do with the backlighting on non LED screens. Which you probably didn't crack but will probably get with a replacement screen.

++ what all of what djk11 said.

Hey, im a laptop tech by trade, (i have a laptop mobo in my lap atm) first take apart your old laptop screen, find model number, most of the time e-bay is my primary source for screens, make sure it is the same # of pins on the connector. Also dont forget glossy screen or flat screen. Your old screen, bring it to a local repair shop, here in NY they are required to connect to recycling places, they will take it and recycle it for you. Jump on it for exercise if you wish, dont forgot to keep the side mounts and if its not LED, keep the inverter.
