Check out Sager. They are great value, but I would recommend the NP 5165 for 15.6". If you want a 17" than the NP 5175.

That ASUS G53 is right around 1,000$ dollars, just on the edge, and it has a second generation Sandy bridge i7 and Nvidia gtx460m with 6gb....

...come on... nothing will come close to that for the price. You may even find some one's on ebay, just fyi the G53SW is the newer model, while the G53JW has the first gen i7 etc.. which would still be a good option for you if your looking to save $$$ but I would go for the newer technology etc..

Was going to buy it before I ordered my Alienware m14x a few days ago still would consider it myself actually

I would personally never buy a 15.6" machine that had a 1080p screen. The highest I'd go there would be 1600x900. Solely due to the reason that it's hard to squint at the tiny lettering on a 1080p screen that small.

It might be a good buy, personally I've heard it has problems with overheating due to the poor design. There's no intake vent for the GPU or CPU.

No Sandy Bridge. It's an i5.
