Does it seem very strange that the fan on my psu keeps spinning after I've shut down my computer?

Nope, some PSUs keep it on until it cools the PSU to room temperature, then it shuts off. I don't remember the scientific name. However, if it stays on and doesn't turn off it is rather strange.

I was thinking it may be something like that. I guess I'll have to leave it go to see if it ever turns off.

Edit: Ok it does turn itself off after about 2 or 3 minutes. So it's most likely that cooling feature then?

Yes, it is a feature on that PSU to keep cooling the parts after it's shut down. My thermaltake PSU had the same feature.

So it'd be a bad thing to flip the switch on the psu and turn it off before it's done? Cause my comp is in my room and I like to turn everything all the way off before I sleep.

Sounds like your computer is dieseling. If you don't know what that is, then you're not a TOTAL car nerd like me. Dieseling is slang for a car running unexplainably after the the key is turned off. Now with a car, that's extremely dangerous because carbon monoxide can build up in your garage and be toxic and all....

But I digress. With your PSU, it's just cooling itself down before shutoff. Some very high end PSU's will reverse polarity and run their fan backwards for a few seconds to blast dust out of the unit. Cieling mount projectors do this as well when they shutdown.
