BFG 9800 GTX dual display problem

Thread Starter
My graphics card can't run two monitors at once. If I plug a DVI cable into a second slot, no matter what, my computer goes into a constant reboot cycle until I unplug one cable.

I've tried drivers, reseating the card, resetting BIOS, everything, does anyone know what the problem is? It's been like this for a year when it just started happening out of no where, so I feel it's a hardware problem ):

Its a hardware problem... you said it does a reboot cycle meaning no drivers are loaded(only load in OS) all thats left is the card...
you also have the 79XTD EVO so try moving the card to the x8 lane to see if that helps(if it does then its your PCIe slot(probably not but still worth the try)

So, do you mean: it was working fine with dual monitors and then all of a sudden it did not work anymore?

Have you tried using just one monitor connecting to the 2nd DVI output of the card?
How about the mini DIN output? I know this is not relevant to your monitor but it is worth to try, solely for the diagnostic purpose.

Tried swapping cables?
Although I think it would not cause reboot

I call bad card

Get a GTS 450, it will be a good upgrade and you can get them cheap

I got one OC at 1.01 ghz, screaming
